Rehabilitation of Russian Cosmonauts in Dagomys

06/01/2020

Specialists of “ICIMB” Company have installed general-purpose X-ray scanning equipment featuring lung cancer screening function (fluorography) at a health center in a famous Black Sea resort “Dagomys”, which is among the largest and most famous Black Sea resorts in Russia. Where are the medical rehabilitation of Russian cosmonauts at a health center in this famous resort.

An agreement on organization of rehabilitation of Russian cosmonauts at health resorts in Krasnodar Krai was signed between the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of Krasnodar Krai and Y.A. Gagarin Research & Test Cosmonaut Center at the International Tourism Forum SIFT in Sochi. Within the framework of further arrangements the parties developed a set of events to organize medical rehabilitation and treatment of Russian spacecraft crew members at “Dagomys” health resorts. However, there are just a few health resorts that are capable of treating and rehabilitating Russian cosmonauts. Such resorts must meet multiple requirements, including natural factors, availability of infrastructure and rooms, organization of catering based on proper diets and, last but not the least, availability of adequate treatment facilities with top-notch high-quality equipment.

“Rehabilitation facilities at “Dagomys” resort have high-tech medical equipment, which conforms to international standards. Individual recovery programs will be developed for each cosmonaut on the basis of their health status. A comprehensive rehabilitation program combines medical procedures, climatic conditions and physical exercises. These include balneotherapy, walking in park belts and at the seaside, swimming, manual massage and instrumental therapy, mud therapy, SPA, proper nutrition and sports. Working with cosmonauts is different, since their rehabilitation cycles are longer and they require more active follow-up”, says Viktoriya Elarova, Chief Physician of “Dagomys” resort (the information is sourced from the official website of Federal State Autonomous Institution “’Dagomys’ Health Resort”).
